Have You Read "The Shack?"

By W. J. Howard

Last month I read "The Shack," by William P. Young with the South Denver Book Club, and I had a wonderful experience as a result. I highly suggest reading this book, and with a group if you can swing it.

I Finally Found Another Stephen King Novel I Liked!

I read "Baze" by Stephen King a few months ago and finally got around to writing a review of the book. This is the first King book I've really enjoyed since "Pet Cemetary." You can read the review on my blog.

Retirement Planning

By W. J. Howard

My finance sent this to me yesterday:

If you had purchased $1000.00 of Nortel stock one year ago, it would now be worth $49.00.

With Enron, you would have had $16.50 left of the original $1000.00.

With WorldCom, you would have had less than $5.00 left.

If you had purchased $1000 of Delta Air Lines stock you would have $49.00 left.

But, if you had purchased $1,000.00 worth of beer/wine one year ago, drank all the beer/wine, then turned in the cans/bottles for the aluminium recycling REFUND, you would have had $121.00.

Based on the above, my best current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle.
